Toronto’s mayor is currently in the process of removing all bicycle lanes in the downtown area due to his favouristism of motor vehicles. He thinks it will make traffic run more smoothly. In reality, it will force bicycles to ride on the road, and create more accidents like this. Most of the city seems to despise him.
